The opening 45 minutes passed without a goal. Andrija Novakovich put Maccabi Haifa ahead in the 55th minute, with Bruninho providing the assist, but Boni Amian levelled for Hapoel Petach Tikva on 78 after a pass from Clé. Bruninho restored Maccabi Haifa's lead seven minutes later, converting Ayi Silva Kangani's assist, while Tomer Altman, Navot Ratner and Eitan Azoulay were all booked in a full-blooded second half.
Maccabi Haifa had the better of the statistics, holding 58% possession and registering 15 shots to Hapoel's 14, with three on target to two. They also created two big chances to one. Bruninho was at the heart of the win, contributing a goal and an assist as Maccabi Haifa took the points.
