Unión claimed a 2-1 win over Lanús in the Superliga, with Joaquín Mosqueira's goal three minutes after Lanús had levelled proving decisive. Lanús had more of the ball but could not turn that into more than one goal.
Lucas Menossi put Unión ahead in the 53rd minute. Felipe Peña Biafore equalised for Lanús in the 73rd, but the lead lasted only three minutes before Mosqueira restored Unión's advantage with help from Cristian Tarragona.
The statistics showed Lanús with 59% possession and an expected-goals total of 1.04 to Unión's 0.45, but Unión were more clinical with three shots on target to two. Lanús also created one big chance and scored it, yet still finished on the losing side.
