Vancouver Whitecaps FC II came from behind to beat LA Galaxy II 3-2, scoring three times in a 15-minute second-half spell. Despite being outplayed for long periods, the home side showed ruthless efficiency in front of goal to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead.
LA Galaxy II took the lead in the 28th minute, but Vancouver levelled through an unassigned scorer in the 58th minute. They struck again three minutes later to go 2-1 up, then added a third in the 73rd minute. LA pulled one back in the 86th minute but could not find an equaliser.
The visitors dominated possession (59%) and had 18 shots to Vancouver's 10, but only five were on target. Vancouver, by contrast, put eight of their ten attempts on goal and converted two of their three big chances, while LA missed three of their four big chances. The hosts also had goalkeeper saves five times to LA's two.
