LA Galaxy II came from behind to beat Colorado Rapids 2 3-2 in MLS Next Pro. Julian Placias scored twice as the visitors turned the game around after Colorado had taken an early lead.
Sydney Wathuta put Colorado ahead in the 38th minute, but Julian Placias levelled four minutes later. Eric Preston made it 2-1 to LA Galaxy II in the 49th minute, and Placias added his second and the visitors' third in the 82nd. Josh Copeland pulled one back for Colorado a minute later, but they could not find an equaliser.
Colorado Rapids 2 had 55% possession and more accurate passes, yet LA Galaxy II carried the greater threat with 13 shots, seven on target and an expected-goals figure of 1.75 to 1.29. Placias was the match-winner with two goals, including the decisive third.
