Iwaki FC beat FC Imabari 2-1 in J.League 2. A quick double from Naoki Kumata just after half-time proved decisive, and Iwaki held on to take all three points.
Kumata opened the scoring in the 48th minute and made it 2-0 two minutes later. Edigar Junio pulled one back for Imabari in the 55th, but no further goals followed.
Kumata's brace was the standout contribution, his goals arriving in the 48th and 50th minutes. Son Taiga and Rei Umeki were both booked early on, but the match stayed goalless until after the break.
