Cruzeiro secured a 2-1 victory away to Internacional, taking the lead early and stretching it after a red card for the home side. Victor Gabriel's sending-off in the 59th minute proved pivotal, as Cruzeiro doubled their advantage soon after.
Kaio Jorge opened the scoring in the 11th minute from Fagner's assist. Matheus Pereira made it 2-0 in the 64th minute, again supplied by Fagner. Internacional pulled one back through Johan Carbonero in the 83rd minute, but could not find an equaliser.
Despite Internacional having 21 total shots to Cruzeiro's 13, the visitors were more clinical, registering six shots on target to three. The expected goals were almost identical (1.74 to 1.79), but Cruzeiro's two assists from Fagner and their ability to capitalise after the red card made the difference.
