Piotr Zieliński put Inter back in front two minutes after the restart, and Francesco Pio Esposito and Yann Bisseck added further goals in the 55th and 63rd minutes. Monza's early resistance faded as Inter took control with three unanswered goals after the break.
Inter controlled the match with 71% possession and 13 shots to Monza's seven, though expected goals were close at 1.16 to 1.06. Monza created three big chances but missed them all, while Inter scored once from their two big chances.
