Independiente Santa Fe and América de Cali played out a goalless draw in Primera A, Apertura. Santa Fe dominated the shot count, firing 18 efforts to América's four, but could not find a way past the visiting defence.
The game's key numbers all pointed one way: Santa Fe had four shots on target to América's none, and eight corners to two. América kept their shape, though, and the four bookings – for Rafael Carrascal, Franco Fagúndez, Luis Quiñones and Jan Franc Lucumi – told the story of a tight, physical contest.
América's goalkeeper was the busier of the two, making four saves to keep Santa Fe out. Despite having only 45% possession, Santa Fe created far more, with an expected goals figure of 0.91 to América's 0.26 – but the only number that mattered, 0-0, stayed unchanged.
