Independiente left Central Córdoba with a 1-0 Superliga victory, Leonardo Godoy's strike on 57 minutes separating the sides. The hosts controlled much of the play, but it was the visitors who made the decisive breakthrough.
The goal came midway through the second half when Mateo Pérez set up Godoy to score. Central Córdoba were unable to respond, and Facundo Zabala was booked in the 90th minute as they chased an equaliser.
Central Córdoba's frustration is easy to understand: they had 54% possession, 30 shots and 11 corners to Independiente's three. But Independiente created four big chances to none, had the higher expected-goals figure at 1.78 to 1.33, and their goalkeeper made four saves to secure the clean sheet.
