Malmö FF beat IK Sirius 1-0 in the Allsvenskan, with Diego Garcia's goal just before half-time settling a tight contest. Sirius enjoyed more of the ball but could not turn that into a goal.
The only goal arrived in the 44th minute, Garcia turning in Theodor Lundbergh's assist to make it 0-1. That left Sirius chasing the game, and although they created two big chances they could not find an equaliser. Tobias Anker, Diego Garcia and Mohamed Soumah were booked before the break, with Adrian Skogmar booked after it.
The numbers showed how close the balance of play was: Sirius had 53% possession and more accurate passes, but Malmö were far sharper in the final third, putting six shots on target to Sirius's one. Malmö converted their only big chance, while Sirius missed both of theirs, leaving the home side to regret their wastefulness.
