IFK Göteborg edged out Örgryte IS 1-0 in the Allsvenskan, with a single goal from Hjörtur Hermannsson proving decisive. The home side controlled much of the game, enjoying 52 per cent possession and out-shooting their opponents, but needed that one moment of quality to separate the sides.
The only goal came on 61 minutes, Hermannsson converting after Tobias Heintz had set him up. Before that, Felix Eriksson had been booked just after the half-hour, and Adam Bergmark Wiberg went into the book late in the game, but neither side could add to the scoreline.
The shot count told the story: Göteborg had 19 attempts to Örgryte's 11 and won 11 corners to five, yet the expected-goals figure for both sides was 0.00. Örgryte did create one big chance and forced the home goalkeeper into five saves, but their miss left them with nothing to show for the effort.
