IF Elfsborg came from behind to beat Malmö FF 2-1 away, thanks to clinical finishing and a strong defensive display. Despite having less than 40% possession, the visitors took their chances when it mattered.
Arbër Zeneli opened the scoring in the fifth minute, sliding home after a pass from Julius Magnusson. Jens Stryger Larsen levelled for Malmö in the 22nd minute with a finish from Noah Astrand John's assist, but Momoh Ibrahim Kamara restored Elfsborg's lead just before the half-hour mark, set up by Zeneli. The away side then played the final 17 minutes with ten men after Malte Palsson was sent off, but they held firm.
Elfsborg were far more efficient in front of goal, managing four shots on target to Malmö's one, and both of their goals came from their only big chance of the match. Malmö dominated possession (61%) and attempted as many shots overall, but lacked the cutting edge, with the Elfsborg goalkeeper not required to make a single save.
