IK Sirius turned a goalless stalemate into a comfortable victory with three goals in the final eight minutes, beating IF Elfsborg 3-1. Mohamed Soumah broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute before Robbie Ure doubled the lead two minutes later, and an own goal sealed the win deep into stoppage time.
Elfsborg had defended solidly until the 82nd minute, when Isak Bjerkebo’s assist set up Soumah to slot home. Two minutes later, Ure made it 2-0 with an unassisted strike. Oscar Krusnell gave the home side hope with a goal in the 88th minute, but Sirius restored their two-goal cushion in the 90th minute when a cross or shot found the net without a named scorer.
The visitors were far more clinical when it mattered – they had nine shots on target to Elfsborg’s two, created three big chances and scored from two of them, while the home side failed to convert either of their two big chances. Possession was almost even (51% to Sirius, 49% Elfsborg), but Sirius’s accuracy in front of goal decided the contest.
