Hajduk Split left Gorica with a 2-1 victory in the 1. HNL, and they needed a late goal to do it. Michele Šego's third-minute opener was cancelled out before Marko Livaja produced an 87th-minute winner.
Šego struck from Rokas Pukštas's assist to give Hajduk the perfect start. Bruno Bogojević equalised for Gorica in the 78th minute, but Livaja had the final say three minutes from time after Alberto del Moral's pass.
Hajduk had the lion's share of the ball at 62% and recorded 16 shots to Gorica's eight, yet the hosts' expected-goals total of 1.27 edged Hajduk's 1.20. The visitors controlled much of the play but needed Livaja's late intervention to secure the points.
