HC Stadion Cheb took a 7-5 decision in Prague, winning in regulation by never letting Kobra draw level after the opening period. Cheb outscored the hosts in every frame — 3-2, 2-1, 2-2 — and that margin, repeated three times, was the game.
The first period was end-to-end, with goals at 5, 7, 10, 14 and 17 minutes leaving Cheb up 3-2 after twenty. The visitors then built the cushion in the middle frame with strikes at 28 and 30, and Kobra's answer at 39 still left them down 5-3 through two.
The third period never turned: Cheb scored at 41 and 48, Kobra at 43 and 51, and the deficit held. Twelve goals, none of them needing overtime — Cheb simply had the reply every time the hosts got within one.
