Newcastle Olympic came from behind to beat Belmont Swansea United FC 5-2 in an entertaining NPL Northern New South Wales match. After conceding inside the first ten minutes, they responded with four goals before half-time to take control.
Belmont Swansea United took an early lead in the 8th minute, but Newcastle Olympic equalised in the 17th minute and then added three more goals in quick succession — in the 24th, 40th and 45th minutes — to lead 4-1 at the break. Belmont pulled one back in the 56th minute, but Newcastle Olympic made the points safe with a fifth goal in the 75th minute.
The box score showed Newcastle Olympic were the more clinical side, registering seven shots on target to Belmont's three, and winning ten corners to two. Possession was fairly even at 53% to 47% in their favour, but they made their superiority count where it mattered.
