Frosinone edged a five-goal Serie A contest at home, beating Venezia 3-2 after racing into a two-goal lead and then regaining it late. Antonio Raimondo scored twice inside the opening 39 minutes to put the hosts in control, but Venezia responded strongly after the interval.
Raimondo opened the scoring in the 21st minute, with Anthony Oyono providing the assist, and made it 2-0 from Patrizio Masini's pass in the 39th. Venezia pulled one back through John Yeboah in the 66th minute, Gianluca Busio assisting, before Richie Sagrado levelled in the 74th with Antoine Hainaut the provider. Giorgi Kvernadze settled it for Frosinone in the 83rd minute with an unassisted winner.
The numbers show Venezia dominated territory, holding 61% possession and mustering 15 shots to Frosinone's 12, while their expected goals of 2.18 edged the hosts' 1.70. Yet Frosinone were clinical, scoring from all three of their big chances, whereas Venezia converted only one of their three and missed two.
