Fribourg-Gottéron won 4-2 in regulation, seizing the game with a three-goal third period after a scoreless second. Anthony Richard’s two goals gave the visitors enough cushion to withstand a late Graz push.
Lucas Hedlund put Fribourg up in the fifth minute, and Chris Collins equalized for Graz near the first-period horn. The teams stayed deadlocked through the middle frame before Yannick Rathgeb broke the tie in the third. Richard followed a minute later, and after Marcus Vela cut the deficit to 2-3 in the final minute, Richard sealed it with his second.
Richard was the game’s top scorer, finishing with two goals on the road. Fribourg also closed the game on a 3-1 third-period edge; Graz’s Paul Huber assisted on both home goals but could not force overtime.
