Spartak Moscow left the Moscow derby with a 3-2 regulation win over CSKA, Max Comtois scoring the decider in the 56th minute. CSKA twice pulled even, but Spartak made its third-period edge stick.
Dmitri Buchelnikov put CSKA up at 9:00, and Ilya Kotlyarov answered for Spartak at 15:00. Christian Jaros gave the visitors a 2-1 lead at 23:00, Maxim Sorkin tied it again for CSKA at 36:00, and Comtois then broke the deadlock late.
Jaros was the difference on the scoresheet, collecting a goal and an assist while factoring on two of Spartak's three tallies. The teams traded goals in each of the first two periods, and Spartak claimed the only period not shared: the third, 1-0.
