Fenerbahçe and Olympique Lyonnais played out a 1-1 draw in the Champions League playoff round. Lyon took the lead through Loïs Openda in the 40th minute, but Fenerbahçe levelled soon after the restart through Mason Greenwood. It was a tight contest throughout, with the sides close on possession, shots and efforts on target.
Openda finished from Corentin Tolisso's assist to make it 0-1 seven minutes before half-time. Fenerbahçe responded quickly after the break, Greenwood turning in Kerem Aktürkoğlu's pass to make it 1-1 in the 47th minute. Neither side could find a winner after that.
The stats showed how level the game was: Fenerbahçe had 51% possession and won three corners, but both teams had 11 shots and five on target. Each created one big chance, with Lyon converting theirs and Fenerbahçe missing theirs. Three yellow cards were shown, to Abner Vinícius, N'Golo Kanté and Milan Škriniar.
