FC Botoșani snatched a point with a stoppage-time equaliser, cancelling out Claudiu Petrila's first-half opener for FC Rapid București. The 1-1 draw leaves Rapid frustrated after they wasted a series of clear chances, finishing with five big chances missed and none converted on the night.
Petrila put Rapid ahead just before the break, turning in Timotej Jambor's assist to make it 0-1 at half-time. Botoșani pushed hard in the second half and finally levelled through Sebastian Mailat in the 90th minute, with no assist recorded, to make it 1-1.
The match was marked by indiscipline: a red card was shown before kick-off (minute -5, player not named), and Alexandru Paşcanu received a second yellow and was sent off for Rapid in the 87th minute. Despite dominating possession (59% to 41%) and creating twice as many big chances (5-2), Rapid's wastefulness cost them, as Botoșani took one of their two big chances to snatch a draw.
