ETO FC Győr and Víkingur Reykjavík played out a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier. The visitors twice took the lead through Daniel Hafsteinsson, but Győr responded each time, with a brace from Hafsteinsson securing the draw for the Icelandic side.
Hafsteinsson opened the scoring in the 34th minute with an assist from Gylfi Sigurðsson. Győr hit back quickly through Milan Vitalis four minutes later, then went ahead just before half-time via Sveinn Gísli Þorkelsson. The lead lasted only ten minutes into the second half when Hafsteinsson struck again, this time set up by Helgi Guðjónsson, to make it 2-2.
Hafsteinsson's two goals were the key difference, as Győr dominated possession (62%) and had more total shots (12-9) but could only put two on target. The hosts also created four big chances but missed three, while Víkingur made the most of their three big chances, scoring one. Both sides finished with eight yellow cards between them.
