Esbjerg progressed with a 5-1 victory over Skive in the DBU Pokalen second round, taking control early and easing into the next stage. They were three goals clear by half-time and continued to add to their lead after the break.
Adam Ahmad opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and doubled the lead eight minutes later. Anders Sonderskov made it 3-0 just before the interval, and Muamer Brajanac added a fourth in the 52nd minute. Christian Kudsk pulled one back for Skive in the 68th minute, but Brajanac restored the four-goal cushion within three minutes.
Ahmad and Brajanac each scored twice for Esbjerg. The quick response to Skive's goal showed their control, and the result was never seriously threatened.
