Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg opened with a two-goal burst and held on for a 2-1 regulation win over Dynamo Moscow. Anton Slepyshev struck at 4:00 off a feed from Anatolii Golyshev, and Alexander Barabanov doubled the lead at 11:00 with Adam Ruzicka assisting.
Dynamo tightened up after the slow start and pulled one back late in the second period, when Nikita Tertyshny scored at 38:00 from Igor Martynov. The teams went to the intermission at 2-1, and Avtomobilist locked things down in a scoreless third to close out the result.
The first 11 minutes proved decisive: Avtomobilist's 2-0 cushion after the opening frame was enough to withstand Dynamo's lone reply. Slepyshev's early marker and Barabanov's follow-up supplied the offence in a game decided in regulation.
