Independiente Medellín edged out Deportivo Pasto 3-2 in a lively Primera A Apertura contest, despite seeing less of the ball. The hosts made the most of their opportunities, converting all three of their big chances while Pasto failed to create any clear-cut openings.
Jhan Mena gave Medellín the lead inside four minutes, but Santiago Córdoba levelled for Pasto on the half-hour. Hayen Palacios restored the home side's advantage six minutes later, only for Joider Micolta to make it 2-2 just before the break. The decisive moment came in the 65th minute when John Edwin Montaño netted what proved to be the winner.
