Deportivo Cali threw away a two-goal lead as Internacional de Bogota fought back for a 2-2 draw in the Primera A Apertura. Cali looked in control after two first-half goals, but two strikes either side of the interval changed the picture.
José Caldera opened the scoring from Eduard Bello's assist after 11 minutes, and Nicolás Benedetti doubled the lead on 35. Diego Duarte pulled one back for the visitors just before the break, and Facundo Boné equalised in the 62nd minute. Cali pushed for a winner but had to settle for a point.
Cali had 59% possession and outshot Internacional 12 to 10, yet they scored from just one of their two big chances while Internacional took both of theirs. The numbers underline an afternoon of wasted control for the home side, who led by two goals and still could not close it out.
