Rayo Vallecano and Deportivo Alavés shared a 1-1 draw in LaLiga. Sergio Camello's strike just after the break put Rayo ahead, but Mariano Díaz equalised six minutes from time to earn Alavés a point.
The opening 45 minutes were tight, with Nahuel Tenaglia booked as the half drew to a close. Rayo broke the deadlock on 48 minutes when Jorge de Frutos set up Sergio Camello to make it 1-0. Alavés pressed for an equaliser and got it through Mariano Díaz on 84 minutes, leaving the home side to settle for a draw.
Alavés dominated the underlying numbers, with 15 shots to Rayo's eight, an expected-goals total of 1.92 to 0.40 and four big chances to Rayo's one. They scored just once from that pressure, however, and Rayo's three shots on target were enough to take a share of the points.
