Deportes Concepción made the most of their chances to beat O'Higgins 2-0 in Primera Division, a result that flattered the visitors' possession stats. Despite seeing less of the ball, the home side were far more dangerous in front of goal.
The deadlock was broken just before half-time when Joaquín Larrivey struck in the 45th minute to make it 1-0. Mario Sandoval doubled the lead in the 75th minute, and O'Higgins' hopes of a comeback were ended when Nicolas Garrido was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 82nd minute.
Deportes Concepción fired 20 shots in total, nine on target, compared to O'Higgins' seven attempts and two on target. The home side also created two big chances to O'Higgins' none, and needed only one save from their goalkeeper all evening.
