New England Revolution beat DC United 3-0 in MLS thanks to an Alhassan Yusuf hat-trick. Yusuf struck in the 23rd, 45th and 66th minutes to seal the victory for the visitors.
Yusuf opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after a pass from Peyton Miller, and made it 2-0 in the 45th from Jack Harrison's assist. Harrison was provider again for the third in the 66th minute as the Revolution completed a comfortable away win.
Yusuf's hat-trick was the decisive individual contribution, yet the underlying numbers make curious reading. New England had 82% possession and completed 64 accurate passes to DC United's eight, while the hosts had two shots to the visitors' none, with neither side recording a shot on target.
