Houston Dynamo dominated possession and chances but had to settle for a 1-1 draw with DC United in MLS. Héctor Herrera's first-half goal was cancelled out by Tai Baribo's equaliser after the break, leaving both sides with a point.
Herrera put Houston ahead in the 40th minute, but DC United grew into the game after half-time. Baribo levelled in the 78th minute, assisted by Nathan Ordaz, to earn a share of the spoils. The match saw a flurry of bookings, including Silvan Hefti, Artur, Baribo, Andre Dozzell, Jared Stroud and Erik Sviatchenko all cautioned.
The numbers paint a clear picture: Houston had 64% possession, 20 shots to DC's seven, and five on target against one. Yet DC's only shot on target was the equaliser, and the visitors defended stubbornly, with their goalkeeper making four saves. It was a case of a dominant display that just couldn't find a second goal.
