Jaime Peralta put Cúcuta ahead in the 13th minute, assisted by Marlon Carabali. Two minutes later Emerson Batalla equalised for Bucaramanga, with Luciano Pons providing the assist. Mauricio Duarte's red card in the 56th minute left Cúcuta with ten men, but Bucaramanga could not capitalise.
