Maccabi Tel Aviv won 3-1 at CSKA Sofia in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round, taking the lead early and keeping their control of the game. Dor Peretz's 12th-minute goal gave them the start they wanted, and they never looked back.
Peretz finished from Osher Davida's assist to make it 1-0. Ester Sokler doubled the lead on 61 minutes, again assisted by Davida, before Stefano Sensi pulled one back for CSKA Sofia in the 66th minute. Fedor Lapoukhov restored the two-goal cushion just three minutes later.
Maccabi dominated on the ball with 65% possession, had five shots on target to CSKA's three, and took six corners to their hosts' two. Osher Davida created the first two goals, and that control was reflected in the final score.
