HJK eased into the next round with a convincing three-goal win over Coleraine. The Finnish side took control with two first-half strikes and never looked back, leaving the home side with a mountain to climb.
Toivo Mero opened the scoring on 12 minutes, turning home Alfie Cicale's assist. Cicale then doubled the lead himself just after the half-hour mark, finishing a move set up by Teemu Pukki. Any hope of a Coleraine fightback was ended when Mouhamed Gueye made it three in the 53rd minute, again assisted by Pukki.
Teemu Pukki was the chief creator, setting up two of the three goals, while Alfie Cicale had a direct hand in two himself with a goal and an assist. Coleraine failed to register a shot on target and Joel Cooper was booked late on as HJK comfortably controlled the contest.
