Universidad Católica beat Cobresal 2-0 in Primera Division, the points secured by two second-half goals. They controlled the game from early on, with more of the ball and the clearer chances, but had to wait until the hour mark to make the breakthrough.
Guillermo Pacheco broke the deadlock on 60 minutes, and Fernando Zampedri added the second in the 90th minute from Vicente Bernedo's cross, sealing a result that had looked likely for much of the second half. The match was goalless at the break, with bookings for Pacheco and Juan Fuentes either side of half-time.
The home side dominated the stats sheet, holding 58% possession and 15 shots to Cobresal's nine, with ten corners to two. Cobresal's goalkeeper made five saves to keep the score respectable, but Universidad Católica's pressure told late on, with Zampedri's goal their second in the closing stages.
