CD Guadalajara beat Club Tijuana 5-2 in the Primera Division Apertura, with the result effectively settled by a commanding first half. Ricardo Marín scored twice before the break, and the hosts led 3-0 at half-time and 5-0 by the 69th minute.
Santiago Sandoval opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, and Marín added a second on 31 minutes and a third in the 45th. Roberto Alvarado made it 4-0 in the 59th minute and Diego Campillo netted a fifth in the 69th, before Club Tijuana's Elias Manoel scored twice, in the 75th and 90th minutes, to change the final margin.
Guadalajara were clinical while Tijuana had more attempts: the visitors took 15 shots to the home side's 13, but only four of those were on target compared to Guadalajara's eight. Guadalajara also had 59% possession and an expected-goals total of 2.28 to Tijuana's 1.18, and there were four yellow cards in the match.
