Columbus Crew 2 beat Chicago Fire FC II 4-0 at home in MLS Next Pro. Chase Adams scored twice and set up the opener, and the hosts pulled away with three goals in the final 18 minutes after an hour in which a single goal separated the sides.
O'Neal Taylor put Columbus ahead in the 35th minute from Adams' pass. Adams made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute, assisted by Kevin Gbamblé, and then added his second of the night in the 89th minute, again with Gbamblé providing the ball. Jamil Danjaji completed the scoring in the 90th minute.
Chicago had more attempts – 18 to 13 – and won nine corners to two, but Columbus were more clinical, scoring with all four of their shots on target. The hosts also led on expected goals (2.74 to 1.50) and created three big chances to Chicago's one. Adams finished the game with a hand in three of the four goals.
