Chattanooga Red Wolves SC came from behind twice to beat the Charlotte Independence 4-2 in a thrilling USL League One contest. A late flurry of goals in the final minutes decided the match after the sides had been level at 2-2.
Souaibou Marou put Charlotte ahead in the 13th minute, but Aaron Lombardi equalised for the visitors six minutes into the second half. Lombardi struck again in the 62nd minute to put Chattanooga in front, only for Joey Skinner to level it at 2-2 for the hosts four minutes later. However, Pedro Hernandez scored the go-ahead goal in the 88th minute, and Jordan Ayimbila sealed the win in stoppage time.
Aaron Lombardi's brace was the standout individual performance, but the visitors' overall attacking threat was decisive. They fired 19 total shots—nine on target—compared to Charlotte's nine shots and just two on target, despite having only 46% possession. Goalkeeper saves were lopsided too, with Charlotte's keeper making five stops while Chattanooga's made just one.
