Toronto FC II advanced past Chattanooga FC on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Damar Dixon's 90th-minute goal levelled the game after Farid Sar-Sar had put the visitors ahead eight minutes earlier, and the shootout finished 5-4 in Toronto's favour.
Jahmarie Nolan gave the hosts an early lead with an 11th-minute goal, but Alex Krehl equalised for Chattanooga from Daniel Mangarov's assist just before the half-hour. Farid Sar-Sar turned the game around with an 82nd-minute strike, set up by Luke Husakiwsky, before Dixon's stoppage-time reply forced penalties.
Chattanooga dominated the underlying numbers, with 53% possession, 17 shots to nine and an expected-goals count of 1.71 to 0.48, yet Toronto's goalkeeper made three saves and the hosts took the one big chance that mattered. It was a scrappy, resilient display, and the shootout went their way.
