Bassols Ribera M. cruised past Carle M. 6-2, 6-1 in the WTA 125K Kitzbuhel, dominating on serve and return throughout the match. The Spaniard converted five of nine break points and saved two of the three break points she faced, while Carle managed only one break and saved just four of nine.
Carle struck first in the opening set, breaking at 0-1, but Bassols immediately replied at 1-1. She then broke again at 3-1 and sealed the set with a third break at 6-2. The second set followed a similar pattern: Bassols broke at 2-0 and 4-0, then served out the match at 6-1 without facing a break point.
Bassols’ first-serve effectiveness was the key: she landed 82% of first serves and won 61% of those points, while Carle managed just 62% first serves and won 46%. The lower-ranked player also struggled on second serve, winning only 19% of points behind it, and committed six double faults.
