BIK Karlskoga held on for a 3-2 win over Västerås IK in regulation, built almost entirely on a first period they controlled from the opening shift. Two goals inside the first 10 minutes gave the hosts a cushion they never fully surrendered.
Gustaf Thorell opened at 2:00 off a feed from Rikard Olsen, and Oscar Holmertz made it 2-0 at 10:00 with Travis Treloar assisting. The visitors' third-period goal at 58:00 closed it to 3-2 but came too late to force overtime.
