Beşiktaş claimed a 2-0 away win over FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round, scoring twice in the second half. The turning point came when Midtjylland's Martin Erlić was sent off for a second yellow card in the 54th minute, leaving the home side a man down.
Milot Rashica opened the scoring in the 70th minute with an assist from Junior Olaitan, and Orkun Kökçü doubled the lead six minutes later, with Kökçü's goal coming unassisted. Midtjylland had controlled much of the game until the red card but could not break through Beşiktaş's defence.
The box score shows a tight contest: possession was almost level at 51% to 49%, and both teams had four shots on target. Midtjylland actually had more attempts overall (12 to 10) and won five corners to Beşiktaş's one, but they were unable to convert any of those opportunities.
