1. FC Magdeburg cruised into the second round with a 4-0 win over Bahlinger SC in the DFB Pokal first round. The visitors took control inside five minutes and never let go, leading 3-0 by half-time.
Mateusz Żukowski opened the scoring from Luka Hyryläinen's pass in the 5th minute, and Falko Michel doubled the lead on 31 minutes after Barış Atik set him up. Żukowski added a third just before the break, again from Atik, and Michel completed the scoring in the 77th minute from Tobias Müller's assist.
Magdeburg dominated throughout, holding 63% possession and registering 18 shots to Bahlinger's seven. They created eight big chances, scored three of them, and had nine shots on target, while Bahlinger managed only two efforts on goal.
