Young Violets Austria Wien beat Austria Salzburg 3-1 in the 2. Liga, taking control with three first-half goals. Austria Salzburg pulled one back after the break, but the home side held on for the win.
Noel Polonkai opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Valentin Toifl doubled the lead on 27, and Marijan Österreicher, assisted by Marco Hausjell, made it 3-0 in the 45th minute. Mohammad Mahmoud, assisted by Tamar Crnkic, scored Austria Salzburg's goal in the 62nd minute.
The first half was decisive, with Young Violets scoring three times before the interval. The game also featured six yellow cards, three of them in the 90th minute.
