Atlanta United left Minnesota with a 2-1 win thanks to Tristan Muyumba's late goal. The visitors had taken the lead in the first half, saw it cancelled out, then regained the advantage in a lively MLS encounter.
Tomás Jacob put Atlanta ahead in the 37th minute. Anthony Markanich brought Minnesota level on 58, but Muyumba struck again for the visitors 20 minutes later, with Aleksei Miranchuk providing the assist.
The underlying numbers favoured Minnesota, who had 53% possession, 13 shots to Atlanta's ten and an expected-goals figure of 2.00 against 0.93. Yet Atlanta took their chances where it mattered, and their goalkeeper's three saves proved crucial.
