Atlanta United came from behind to beat New York Red Bulls 2-1, with two goals in the final 21 minutes turning the game around. Emil Forsberg had given the visitors an early lead, but Tristan Muyumba levelled before Fafà Picault scored what proved to be the winner.
Forsberg put New York ahead in the sixth minute after a pass from Adri Mehmeti. Atlanta had to wait until the 69th minute for their equaliser, Muyumba converting from Aleksei Miranchuk's delivery, and Picault completed the comeback on 82 minutes, assisted by Miguel Almirón. The match also saw four yellow cards, with Elías Baez booked before kick-off and Tomás Jacob, Picault and Mohammed Sofo all cautioned during the game.
The box score makes strange reading: Atlanta are credited with zero shots and zero shots on target, while New York had one shot and one on target, with an expected-goals total of 0.73 to Atlanta's 0.00. Yet Atlanta shaded possession 51% to 49% and took the points, a result that owed everything to their clinical finishing rather than sustained pressure.
