Athletic Club were beaten 2-0 at home by CRB in the Brasileiro Série B. CRB took the lead through Dadá Belmonte in the 33rd minute and never relinquished control, finishing with 23 shots to Athletic's 11 and an expected-goals tally of 2.04 to 0.80.
Dadá Belmonte converted Crystopher's assist to open the scoring just after the half-hour mark. Mikael doubled the advantage in the 56th minute with Danielzinho supplying the pass, and that second goal proved the turning point as Athletic created two big chances but missed both. The match also saw three yellow cards, for Wilinton Aponzá, Thiaguinho and Maswel Ananias Silva.
The visitors' superior shooting was the standout figure: CRB had six shots on target to Athletic's two and won seven corners to two. Athletic's goalkeeper made three saves to limit the damage, while CRB's made two, but the 50-50 possession split did not reflect the balance of play as CRB deservedly took the points.
