Botafogo-SP came from behind to beat América Mineiro 2-1 in the Brasileiro Série B. Fernando Elizari gave the visitors the lead on 55 minutes, but Botafogo responded with two goals in nine minutes.
Hebert Willian Badaró Oliveira equalised on 61 minutes and Filipe Pereira Dahora put Botafogo ahead on 70. América pushed forward but could not find a second equaliser; the final minutes were marked by bookings for Jefferson Nem, Rodrigo Piñeiro and Eduardo Person.
Botafogo had the better chances, with 14 attempts to eight and four on target to two, and their expected-goals figure of 1.16 was higher than América's 0.69. They did it with only 45 per cent of possession, while América's keeper made three saves to Botafogo's one.
