Brian Cipenga set up Javier Muñoz's opener after 13 minutes. Cádiz levelled through Javier Castro on 25, but Almería responded when Miguel de la Fuente scored on 36 and Léo Baptistão made it 3-1 on 44, with Cipenga assisting both. A Cádiz goal in the 90th minute set up a tense finish.
Almería's dominance showed in the box score: they had 58% possession and 16 shots to Cádiz's five, with seven shots on target against one. They converted all three of their big chances, while Cádiz scored from only one of theirs. Cipenga was the standout, assisting all three Almería goals before being booked on 32 minutes.
