Gimnasia y Esgrima took the points with a 2-1 win away at Aldosivi in the Superliga. Two goals before the 70th minute put them in control, and although Nicolás Gaitán pulled one back for the home side, they could not force an equaliser.
Agustín Auzmendi opened the scoring in the 40th minute, turning in Pedro Silva's assist, and Agustín Colazo doubled the lead from Alexis Steimbach's pass in the 66th. Aldosivi responded in the 78th through Nicolás Gaitán, but Gimnasia's defence held. The match also produced six yellow cards, with no reds shown.
Aldosivi dominated the shot count 18-11 but were wasteful, hitting the target only four times. Gimnasia were clinical, scoring from both of their big chances while conceding just one. Possession was exactly even at 50% apiece.
