Olympia Kirovo-Chepets beat Zvezda Moscow 7-2 in a VHL game decided in regulation, thanks to a six-goal first period. The home side took a 6-1 lead into the first intermission and never let Zvezda back into the match.
Zvezda owned the middle frame, scoring the period’s only goal at 33:00 to trim the deficit to 6-2. Olympia answered in the third with a 49:00 goal to make it 7-2, closing out the scoring in a game that was effectively settled after 20 minutes.
The decisive number was the 6-1 opening-period line. After the first intermission Zvezda got no closer than four goals, and Olympia’s early burst stood as the clear difference in the regulation result.
